How Often Should A Kitten Be Vaccinated

The shots come in a series every 3 to 4.
How often should a kitten be vaccinated. They ll need two injections 3 4 weeks apart from around eight weeks of age. Two vaccines are usually needed three to four weeks apart. Kittens should start getting vaccinations when they are 6 to 8 weeks old until they are about 16 weeks old. By getting them vaccinated you are reducing the risk of them falling seriously ill.
Rabies is the other core kitten vaccination. We recommend doing the puppy and kitten series and a booster vaccine in one year and then every three years for the majority of core vaccines or possibly only rabies for indoor only animals. Kittens can start their vaccinations from nine weeks old and will need a second set of injections usually 2 4 weeks after their initial set to complete their course. However older pets need protecting too as their immunity can decline.
Once a kitten is weaned and home with you they need their own protection. A booster vaccine should be given one year later to keep immunity levels high. Your kitten should be vaccinated against the serious core diseases as soon as they are old enough. Kittens should have their first set of vaccinations at nine weeks old and at three months old they should receive the second set to boost their immune system.
Kittens are vaccinated once every three to four weeks until they reach 16 weeks of age or older. Studies have shown that most animals have immunity from the diseases they are vaccinated against for at least three years after their first booster. However this protection only lasts a few weeks so they need regular vaccinations from an early age. However to avoid over vaccination most veterinarians will recommend starting the vaccine at 8 weeks of age followed by boosters at 12 weeks and 16 weeks old.
When puppies kittens and kits are born they are usually protected from infections by their mother s milk providing she has been regularly vaccinated. Too late and kittens will be left susceptible to infection. Then they must be boostered a year latyer. These kitten vaccinations will protect them as they re growing and with boosters throughout their adulthood.
Further needs should be discussed with your vet.
