Grey Egyptian Mau Kitten

The egyptian mau mau being the egyptian word for cat is notable for being the only naturally spotted domesticated cat.
Grey egyptian mau kitten. According to breed standards the egyptian mau s body is medium long with well developed muscles while retaining a graceful appearance. Their head is a slightly rounded wedge without flat planes and their medium to large ears may be tufted. Egyptian maus are medium sized well muscled and moderately active cats. The egyptian mau is the fastest of the domestic cats with its longer hind legs and unique flap of skin extending from the flank to the back knee which assists in running by allowing the legs to stretch back farther providing for greater agility and length of stride.
In other words the spotting pattern was not created by human manipulation of feline genes. These longer hind legs may contribute to it being the fastest running domestic cat capable of speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. Its hind legs are slightly longer than the front giving the cat a somewhat rakish appearance. The egyptian mau s face meanwhile is adorned with an m shaped mark on the forehead and two black streaking lines across its cheeks.
These spots come in a variety of shapes be they round or oblong and differ from cat to cat. They are randomly spotted while their legs and tails are banded. Maus have been clocked running more than 48 km h 30 mph.
